Fire victims in Metro Manila can now count on receiving breads immediately, as Rotary Club of Alabang formally signed a memorandum of agreement with Gardenia Bakeries Philippines, Inc.

“Food is one of the immediate needs of fire victims in temporary shelters. Ready-to-consume Gardenia breads can be distributed to fire victims through our Response Agad-Gardenia para sa nasunugan program,” Rotary Club of Alabang President Nelson G. Mendoza said.

The MOA states that Gardenia will provide the breads and transport vehicle for the quick-response delivery, while Rotary Club of Alabang will provide the volunteers to help in distributing loaves of bread to victims. The project was hailed as “Response Agad” to emphasize immediacy of help by both organizations.

Trial run of the program was already conducted in three recent areas in Malate and Singalong, Manila, where Gardenia breads were distributed within 24 hours.

Rotary Club of Alabang and Gardenia will link up with DSWD, Red Cross and other relief organizations to facilitate the Response Agad assistance.
