Is there any new treatment for neurovascular disease and depression?

The “Join hands with Taiwan to create a healthy and happy life” webinar, organized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare of Taiwan, hosted by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council and the Manila Taiwan Trade Center, will happen on November 5, 2020 at 11 a.m.

The forum will share the latest medical technology, treatment methods, and services in bone marrow transplantation, reproductive medicine, depression, cerebrovascular disease, and telemedicine consultation with friends in the Philippines to offer more treatment options for patients in need.

Dr. Chi-Cheng Li, Director of the Center of Stem Cell & Precision Medicine, Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital, will introduce the “Half-matched transplantation technology” developed by the hospital at the conference.

Two unrelated people have only one in 10,000 chances of matching bone marrow hematopoietic stem cells. Now, through the “half-matched hematopoietic stem cell transplantation technology,” the possibility of successful matching is as high as 90 percent, especially in relatives.

“Foreign studies have also shown that the results of haploidentical transplantation have approached that of fully compatible non-relative transplants,” said Director Li. Moreover, Mr. Onag, a patient from the Philippines, will also share his experience and reason for choosing to
come to Taiwan for his treatment when the new coronavirus began to spread.

For her part, Dr. Pin-Yao Lin, Director of the Department of Reproductive Medicine, Lee Women’s Hospital, will introduce “Screening the best embryo by Pre-implantation Genetic Screening (PGS) to reduce recurrent abortion.”

With 34 years of clinical experience in reproductive medicine and cutting-edge reproductive technologies, Lee Women’s Hospital has helped over 20,000 in-vitro fertilization (IVF) babies come to this world. It also won the Guinness World Record in 2011 and attracts the attention of numerous overseas infertile couples.
