The Filipino talent is undeniably world-class.
This was proven once again during the 3-day 2019 Taiwan Excellence eSports Cup held at the SM City North EDSA, The Block Atrium in Quezon City last weekend.
From October 4-6, gaming enthusiasts and spectators from all ages became witnesses to a grand showcase of how the Pinoy gamers and Taiwan Excellence can elevate the local eSports community using quality high tech brands.
Ecitement filled the four corners of The Block with tournaments for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) and League of Legends (LoL), were teams competed for the P430,000 using op Taiwan brands gaming devices.
Some of the products showcased were the Asus Republic of Gamers (ROG) Strix Scar III G531, ROG Strix G G731GV, Asus TUF Gaming FX505DV, and ROG Zephyrus M. Gigabyte’s Z390 Aorus WaterForce Xtreme motherboard, Aorus memory cards and peripherals, AVerMedia’s plug-and-play AM310 USB microphone, InWin’s WINBOT Limited Edition Transparent Spherical case, and Kingmax’s Semiconductor were also on display for guests to try out. Transcend and T Force also showcased their line of memory cards and external portable SSDs, while Zyxel will introduce its tri-band Wi-Fi system; and an array of peripherals s from XPG, Zadak, and G.Skill were also demoed at the event.
The 2019 Taiwan Excellence eSports Cup serves as the venue to give a glimpse of the Philippines as a rapidly growing market for gaming. With more and more Filipinos getting into gaming, streaming and professional eSports, Taiwan promises to strengthen its commitment to support aspiring eSports athletes and budding enthusiasts by making their latest and most advanced gaming devices and products available in the local market.
As a next step to help boost the Philippine eSports community, the winning team of the CS:GO tournament will be representing the country in an upcoming international competition in Taiwan, which will be the culmination of a series of Taiwan Excellence eSports Cups also held in Malaysia, Thailand, and India.
The cosplay competition was a top crowd-drawer that features Filipino creativity and ingenuity, brand booths where guests got to try and experience Taiwan’s latest gaming devices first-hand, games and activities, entertainment from UPeepz Dance Crew and pop-rock band GraceNote, and appearances by gaming and cosplay celebrities Myrtle Sarrosa and Ashley Gosiengfiao.
Organized by the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the 2019 Taiwan Excellence eSports Cup was also made possible with partner brands Asus Republic of Gamers, Aorus, AVerMedia, In-Win, Kingmax, Transcend, XPG, T Force, Zadak, G.Skill, and Zyxel.
