To Build Champions: The Continuing Legacy of the National Milo Marathon

Year after year, thousands of running enthusiasts across the country gather to participate in arguably the biggest and the most anticipated sporting event since 1974 — the National Milo Marathon.

The coming July 14, the first leg of the 43rd National MILO Marathon will kick off at Urdaneta City, Pangasinan to be followed by ten more races. Below is the complete schedule of races and cities:

July 14 – Urdaneta City

July 28 – Manila (Elimination)

August 4 – Subic Bay Freeport Zone

September 15 – Lucena City

September 22 – Batangas City

September 29 – Cebu City

October 6 – Iloilo City

October 13 – General Santos City

October 20 – Davao City

November 17 – Cagayan De Oro City

January 19, 2020 – Tarlac City

To hype up the coming event, coach Rio dela Cruz was the special guest during the a bloggers event held at UP Diliman last May 25 where participants trained and rained with him in preparation of the upcoming Milo marathon.  In case you are living under a rock or have not joined any fun run event, here’s some info about coach Rio: He is the founder and president of RunRio Inc., a UP Diliman alumnus, elite & celebrity runner, international marathoner and a sought after running coach in the country.

During the event, blogger guests learned the health benefits of participating marathon and running events. They were also introduced the continuing legacy of the Milo marathon in the past 45 years with the objective to search and build champions.  This year, the saga of MILO Marathon Queen Mary Joy Tabal was discussed including her expected journey in the SEA Games Marathon as one of the Philippine representatives running to capture gold medals.  Tabal also looks at stretching her MILO reign to an unprecedented seven-peat.

Another highlight of the blogger event was the announcement of bXTRA as the Official Cashback Partner of the 2019 National MILO Marathon.
