The Philippine College of Criminology (PCCR) takes pride as the pioneer school in the study of police science and crime detection education in Southeast Asia. To date, our institution stood as witness and contributor to the blow by blow development of Criminology in the Philippines. As we move forward towards our 61st Founding Anniversary, the institution that started Criminology in the Philippines together with Public Safety Savings and Loan Association Inc. (PSSLAI) will set another groundbreaking innovation to promote the indispensable role of both law enforcement and its study through a fundraising event dubbed as the 1st Criminology Unity Run (CUR).
This momentous occasion seeks to consolidate Criminology schools and their students in celebrating education as a primary tool to promote peace and order. The time-honored values of integrity, leadership, excellence, accountability and discipline are also best inculcated to aspiring law enforcers through a leisure-type activity such as a fun run. Furthermore, the strong sense of camaraderie between and among criminology graduates who are mostly agents of the government will be best edified in this culminating activity.
Proceeds of the event will help indigent individuals to pursue their education in high school, college, law school and even graduate studies.
Participation in this event is open to the public although it ultimately attracts people acquainted to the police force and running enthusiast. The registration sites in selected Chris Sports outlets scattered in different malls (i.e. SM Manila, SM North Annex, Robinsons Ermita, Glorietta 3 and Market! Market!)
In addition, the unity run also hopes to commemorate the lives of the members of the PNP Special Action force who recently succumbed over an encounter in Magauindanao. A special citation and program will be included after the conclusion of the event.
This promising circumstance is due to commence on February 8, 2015, Sunday, at the Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. 21K, 10K and 5K distances are provided for to cater the novice and the experienced alike. Exciting prizes, freebies and recognition will also be given away to eligible contestants.
