Before you send that Christmas wish letter to Santa, you might want to read this first.
There’s a mini buzz that is becoming louder and louder everyday.
The Wall Street Journal says that during the fourth quarter this year, 10 million units of what have been dubbed the “iPad mini” will be made available to the market.
Previous reports stated that production of the new unit has already begun for the smaller tablet, a little bigger than the iPhone, which many believe will be the best-selling “toy” come the holiday season.
Sources also have suggested the new mini-tablet will include a 7.85-inch LCD screen, whereas the new iPad boasts a screen of 9.7 inches. It is expected that the rumored “iPad mini” will have a lower resolution than the Retina display hosted by the iPad 3.
Apple, one of the largest technology firms in the world, is said to come out with this new product after its market share has slipped due to the rising popularity of Android smartphones and tablets. According to research firm iSuppli, Apple’s slice of the tablet market in Q2 was 69.6 percent. In comparison, it was 84 percent in 2010. Rival firm Samsung claims the second largest share in the second quarter with 9.2 percent.
So who want’s an iPad mini this Christmas? May will surely love to touch (and own) this handy wonder.
This device will sell like absolute hotcakes! If the lower price will be as speculated, feel sorry of Google and Amazon! Not to say that these devices are failures in any shape or form, just that the iPad Mini will be soooo enticing for anyone that can’t afford an iPad 3 etc.
Why is this? It’s an Apple product, that’s why. Stick an Apple logo on a spud, and someone will pay good money for it! 😀
