The buzz that Gilas Pilipinas created during the 2014 FIBA World Cup basketball tournament in Spain recently is arguably one of the biggest if not the biggest news in local hoops this year. Thanks to the passion and dedication that members of our national team showed while facing much bigger and experienced teams from around the world, the Philippines is back in the world arena of basketball.
The team was like a rock band that was being followed not only by Filipinos but even by foreign fans in every game, win or loose, because of their never-say-die brand of basketball. Some of those lucky fans actually got to meet one of the stars of the team, The “Pinoy Sakuragi” Marc Pingris. This happened during a meet and greet event at the sidelights of the 2014 FIBA World Cup in Seville, Spain.
The winners of the Master Game Face Goes to Spain promo, sponsored by the biggest male face care brand in the Philippines, all flew to Spain for an 8-day all expenses paid trip and a once-in-a-lifetime chance to watch live and cheer for members of the national men’s basketball team, as they put their oil-free game faces on and play in the biggest basketball event in the world.
